Recognizing he is lost

One of the things that Mário spends a lot of his time doing is spending time with the people of the church. He strongly believes in God´s call to discipleship.

The last eight years Mário has worked with  a young man, from the church. João grew up in the church and participated in Sunday School and church events and was even baptized. As a young man, he made friends with a group of teenagers that took him into worldly living, drinking, drugs and eventually fathered a child out of wedlock. He would come to church off and on. Mário wanted many times to give up on him, but always continued to pray and talk to him. Recently Mário confronted him with not being a born again Christian. He used the parable of the wedding feast from Luke 14. João recognized immediately that he was the guest who was without the wedding clothes, he was not dressed with God´s righteousness. Moments later he prayed for God´s salvation. Please continue to pray for Mário as he works with João.  And please pray for João. Pray, that he will truly put his faith in Christ and transformed by Him.

These past few years we have observed the people that come to our church. In a few of them we have not seen fruit of God´s presence living within them, and are very concerned for their souls. It is difficult to reach the lost with the Gospel so much more a person who is convinced that they are saved.

As parents this is just a reminder to not affirm to our children that they are saved just because they prayed a prayer or come to church with us. Faith is a personal relationship with Jesus.

Are you sure of your salvation?

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God."
Ephesians 2:8
João´s name was changed to care for his privacy.

Sundays with the Girls

Mario has been having his financial class here in our home. This group has many children and not anywhere to leave them, so they bring them with them. While Mario does his class I watch after the girls. Along with Lorena there are seven little girls from 2 - 12 years old. Whom are running around my house wanting to be entertained. So we do play-doh we draw on the chalkboard and we play in Lorena's room with the new kitchen that she got for Christmas and with all of her little dollies and toys.

Sometimes it has been difficult, but as a missionary you have to be willing to do a little bit of everything to be flexible and ready to do whatever task appears. May the Lord continue to work in my life to be a better servant.
How has God been working in your life?
Of course they didn't want to smile for the camera.
